In today’s digital age, mastering social media advertising is vital for businesses aiming to distinguish themselves in a competitive market. For Aleksandar Bogdanoski, Facebook Ads Manager at Cosmic Development, it’s not just a profession but a passion that ignites his every move.

Aleksandar’s journey began with a personal interest in affiliate websites, eventually leading him to specialize in Facebook marketing. Since joining Cosmic Development in February 2020, he’s been an integral part of our team and a dedicated employee who’s shaping clients’ advertising strategies and driving results.

At Cosmic Development, Aleksandar thrives in a cooperative environment where each team member’s role is indispensable. He credits the company’s focus on professional growth, providing ample learning opportunities and mentorship programs.

Looking ahead, Aleksandar anticipates exciting advancements in Facebook advertising, including augmented reality and evolving Ads Manager features. Read on to uncover the driving force behind his success.

What led you to pursue a career in social media advertising, and how did you end up at Cosmic Development?

Social media advertising offers work in various industries, making it a quite appealing profession. It is continuously progressing and challenging, which is why I chose this career path. For my part, Facebook marketing started by learning the basics of launching campaigns and driving traffic for my personal affiliate website. Later, I began to feel a particular affinity for it, which became my daily routine. Interestingly enough, seeing the ad results from the previous day was the first thing I was doing in the morning. Also, that encouraged me to work on my improvement and optimize my performance, therefore getting a better ROI while testing various tactics on the campaign. As soon as I gained valuable experience, my next goal was to upgrade my skills, so I enrolled in a digital marketing academy. A few months later, I noticed the Cosmic Development ad for FB Ads Manager, and I knew it was an opportunity I must not miss. Applying for the position and joining this company was one of the best decisions I have made in my life.

Can you share what it’s like working at Cosmic Development and your role as a Facebook Ads Manager?

I have had the privilege of being part of the Cosmic Development team starting from February 2020 as a Facebook Ads Manager, and it has been a fantastic journey. Working here has allowed me to contribute to the growth and success of our clients through strategic and impactful Facebook advertising campaigns. As a Facebook Ads Manager, my role involves executing targeted campaigns that drive engagement and deliver tangible results for our clients. My experience at Cosmic Development as a Facebook Ads Manager has been enriching and fulfilling. I’m proud to be part of a company that values innovation, collaboration, and client success.

How have the collaboration and team dynamics evolved, especially with the ongoing growth of your team?

My journey at Cosmic Development began as individual work. To be more precise, it was just me and a client’s established vision. From the first moment, we worked in unison, determined to turn ideas into reality. Subsequently, our collaboration has evolved into a dynamic team of four, each contributing to it with their unique magic to our story. Our team structure is like a perfectly orchestrated symphony, where everyone plays a crucial role in advancing the established goals of our client’s company. We have adopted tools like Slack that act as our virtual meeting place, ensuring we and the client are on the same page as we navigate the shared journey of growing an established company. Metaphorically speaking, leading this team is not about being a solo star but leading a band. I am more than glad that we have built a culture that values our individual concepts and our client’s company’s established legacy and dreams.

In what ways has Cosmic Development supported your professional growth and development as a Facebook Ads Manager?

Working with Cosmic Development has significantly enhanced my skills as a Facebook Ads Manager. The company encourages continuous learning, providing access to courses, conferences, and workshops. These valuable benefits have allowed me to stay updated with the latest trends in digital marketing. Another important thing is that professional mentors gave me the exclusive opportunity to learn about leadership initiatives. I would not have achieved such leadership success without the assistance of experienced mentors abroad and their genuinely inspiring knowledge. Therefore, I can freely say that I owe my powerful leadership skills to all their mentorship programs and exposure to leadership activities. This experience has given me valuable insights into effective digital marketing leadership and enabled me to take on leadership responsibilities within my team.

What advice do you have for someone aspiring to become a Facebook Ads Manager or enter the field of digital marketing?

YouTube is a goldmine for educational content. Many digital marketing specialists share insights, tutorials, and case studies, providing dynamic and up-to-date changes in Facebook advertising and digital marketing strategies. You can also join digital marketing forums and learn more about the forum members and their case studies. Remember to take all Meta Blueprint courses and look at Udemy and Skillshare, which guarantee high-quality content and an excellent starting point.

How do you see the future of Facebook advertising evolving, and what trends do you anticipate in the coming years?

Facebook keeps changing things up on its ad platform, from tweaking bits in the Ads Manager to big moves like taking away certain targeting choices. Also, it is continuously adding new ways to place ads and new simplified campaign objectives, which, by default, the starting date is scheduled in early 2024. One area that is likely to see significant growth in the coming years is augmented reality (AR) advertising. Meta already partnered with Ray-Ban and created the Meta smart glasses, so I expect more user content, like live streams and videos.

At Cosmic Development, our employees determine our success day in and day out. Our Employee Spotlight series provides a peek behind the scenes of the unique individuals who work hard every day to create the best possible experience for all our clients.

Today we chatted with Milan Andreev, a front-end developer. He joined Cosmic Development in 2017 and is currently a front-end developer for our loyal client, Bookmark. Milan is a performance-driven developer who is unafraid to take on challenges and give outputs that impact our company. His positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and love of learning are just a few character traits that make him a beloved member of our engineering team. In addition to his love for technology, he enjoys connecting with nature at any chance he gets, whether by running, rock climbing, mountain biking, or kiteboarding.

In today’s interview, we discuss his career journey to date, what he does daily as a front-end developer, and what he enjoys doing besides work.

First, we would like to congratulate you on your 5th anniversary at Cosmic Development. How did it all start?

Thanks. It is my pleasure to work with all of you. It all started five years ago. I worked remotely for more than ten years in many companies before Cosmic. They were small companies with two to five employees.

However, with no project management to handle tasks, the workload was hefty, and the pressure was high. And that is why I decided to start fresh in a new big company. When I got the job at Cosmic Development, I felt free, happy, and fulfilled after a long time. I am motivated, the work is always done, and there is always time to catch up with colleagues. I have the best time.

What does your average workday look like?

I am a morning person. I get up early, at six or seven, depending on the season. My day starts with a cup of coffee or tea. Then I put on my headphones, play some chillout music, and head for a run or bike ride. Sports activities and watching the sunrise give me a lot of energy for the rest of the day. Then my work day starts. In the morning, I feel the most creative, so I work with clarity at a fast pace. The first thing I do is check the task manager and organize for the day. We often have daily meetings where we share information about progress and future tasks. As the day passes, my concentration drops, which is a lunch alarm. After lunch, another fast pace coding session, a meeting with the colleagues, and the day is over. The best thing about my work is that there is no pressure; everyone is doing their work and helping each other. Cosmic is an environment that is too good to be true.

Can you tell us about your background? When did you decide you wanted to build a career in front-end development?

I started working in 1998. My first website was a fun page for the gymnasium Orce Nikolov, the high school where I went. Next, I started working on a project named Autoinfo – an application for listing cars for sale, the first of its kind at that time, and also my first dynamic website built in “ASP.” That is how I fell in love with creating websites and applications.

I graduated in Computer Science and carved out my career in that direction. There were many projects along the way, requiring different skills and engagement, but eventually, I ended up being a front-end developer. There is no particular reason why I chose front-end development; it came naturally. When I worked on full-stack development projects, and we split the work between colleagues, I felt more comfortable working on the front end.

You mentioned that, at the moment, you are working on design implementation. Can you tell us more about it? For example, what makes a good design implementation, according to you?

For good design implementation, you need a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Use as little code as needed, write clean, high-quality code, and read the designer’s intention. They often work in strict dimensions, so you need to code the same design in relative dimensions, so the design is responsive on all devices. And that’s it; it is very straightforward.

What is the most exciting part about being a front-end developer?

Front-end design is not very exciting, but it is rewarding. The best part is when at the end of the day when I feel fulfilled that I’ve finished the work as best as I could. The more I accomplish, the better I will feel about myself.

And finally, who is Milan out of the office? Any outside hobbies or interests?

An introvert who finds peace and joy in sport and nature. I have a lot of hobbies that are my driving force in life – sports hobbies. I want sports that need a long learning curve.

For example, I started rock climbing many years ago. With rock climbing, you must learn about security, working with the devices for ascending and descending, working on the movement technique, and training endurance and power. The progress is very slow, and that’s why I like it. Also, I ride a road and a mountain bike. I want to be closer to nature and enjoy the views from the top of the mountain! I run, too. Although running seems like a basic activity, it isn’t. There are also running techniques involved, training for endurance and training for speed, and the progress is also very slow.

I also started kiteboarding, which is the hardest to learn from all of the above. You need to learn about wind windows and direction, controlling the kite, safety, and riding a board – all at the same time. It is very fun and enjoyable. And in wintertime, I ski. In every season, I switch between these sports. Sport makes me an enthusiastic and productive developer.

It is a great way to unload and restore my body and mind. It gives me the tools and skills to succeed not just in the workplace but in life too.

If you’re interested in working with colleagues like Milan, check out our careers page. Cosmic Development offers a unique and exciting environment where you can have a significant impact daily and deliver real value for our clients.

We witness an age of amazing technological breakthroughs, increasing demand for new software, and higher customer expectations, so having a QA engineer in a software development team is becoming increasingly necessary for successful software businesses. It saves time, money, nerves, and a company’s reputation.

Quality assurance (QA) engineers monitor every stage of the development process of a product. They oversee production, design and implement tests, debug and recommend improvements, making sure that the product operates on the highest quality level before it is released to the public.

Although some software companies take QA lightly and don’t have QA engineers in their development team, Cosmic Development is quite the opposite. We recognize the true value of quality assurance and believe that building high-quality, stable, and safe products for our clients requires a competent QA engineer. For that reason, today, we spotlight our talented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, Kosta Terziski, and discuss the details of his journey, day-to-day tasks, and advice he would offer to aspiring QA professionals.

Kosta Terziski QA Engineer at Cosmic Development
Kosta Terziski

Who is Kosta?

Kosta is QA Automation Engineer. He joined Cosmic Development in 2014, and since then, he has quickly become an integral part of our development team. He plays a crucial role in Cosmic’s software development process, delivering high value to our company and clients. Apart from having enviable skills for tracking down the bugs that undermine a product’s performance and an excellent eye for detail, he is a proud father of a 4-month baby boy, Filip.

How did you join Cosmic Development, and what’s your overall experience in a few words?

I joined Cosmic on an Internship program back in October 2014. I have been in the company ever since. It’s a fantastic experience, to say the least, considering that I have worked on many great projects with a great group of people.

Why did you opt for a career as a QA engineer?

There are numerous reasons why I opted for a career as a QA engineer. It’s challenging, valuable, creative, you are constantly learning, and most importantly, it’s in demand. Testing is not easy, and it requires excellent problem-solving skills. But I enjoy solving complex problems, looking at products from different angles, and giving developers a new perspective on their work. Each day is a new challenge and brings something new. This is not a job for those who prefer boring and simple jobs and should think twice before choosing a career path in software testing.

Can you describe your role as a QA Engineer at Cosmic Development? What does a ‘typical’ day look like?

Coffee first. Always. And at least 15 minutes to go with that coffee of reading emails and Slack messages just to catch up on what is expected of you in the day ahead. Next in line are daily meetings, which usually don’t last longer than 15 to 20 minutes. And after that – work!

What skills did you bring to the team, and what skills have you developed since joining?

Back when I joined Cosmic, I can hardly say that I brought a lot of skills, but I can certainly say that I was a good listener. This was an opportunity for me to learn from a great group of mentors, most of whom I am still working with. Throughout the years, I have worked on many challenging projects that made me who I am today.

Can you explain the difference between manual testing vs. automation testing? Can automation testing replace manual testing?

Automation testing will not replace manual testing. It would be best if you had both manual and automation testing skills. Manual testing handles complex test cases, while automated testing handles simpler, more repetitive tests. So, manual testing is still important. But adding automated testing makes your manual tests more efficient.

How do you keep up with the latest trends and technologies?

Keeping up with the latest trends and technologies is important in this business line. There are numerous ways I do that: join tech forums, do my own research on the internet, and attend seminars. Plus, Cosmic provides us with access to many online learning tools and resources, and we always have the opportunity to take a course online or with a physical presence, if possible.

What advice would you give to young people keen to pursue a career as a QA engineers?

A job in QA is rewarding and impactful. Take pride in your work and the people you work for because you are essentially changing the world for the better and making sure we live in a bug-free world. It doesn’t matter what product you’re working on. By finding and preventing errors, you are making people’s lives better, and you could even save lives. Be flexible, adaptable, and disciplined. Have patience and trust yourself. Think outside the box and pay attention to details. Be a good team player, and most importantly, never stop learning and improving.

If you aspire to collaborate with inspiring teammates and create and support products that make a difference, we want to hear from you! See our open positions and join our team
